Bridge ProgramWhat is a Bridge Program? The Bridge Program is a rehabilitative exercise program specifically designed for individuals recovering from an injury or surgery. After the completion of formal physical therapy, this program helps to "bridge the gap" between release from therapy and full return to your normal activities, including work and sport. Designed for people of all ages, this program will help you to return to normal function quicker and with a lower risk of re-injury than if left to an independent program. This program will help you to endure the demands of your occupation, sport, and normal daily activities quickly and effectively. Many people continue to have strength, flexibility, and endurance deficits that prevent them from immediate return to their normal activities and participation in this program can benefit them. An extensive pre-testing session will begin your program. This is done to determine your strength, flexibility, and conditioning levels as well as your occupational, sport or life demands so that a customized program can be developed for optimal results. The results of this testing session will also be used to track progress toward your specific strength and conditioning goals. Program levels vary based on the number of times per week you choose to work one-on-one with a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer versus working independently. One-on-one sessions are conducted under the direct supervision of our staff ensuring proper form, mechanics, and techniques being performed. Independent workouts are only indirectly supervised and corrections will be made as time permits. The goal of the Bridge Program is to return you to your occupation, sport, or other activities without limitations (except those imposed by your physician). It will also decrease the risk of re-injury and shorten the "gap" often experienced by individuals at the conclusion of formal physical therapy. At the completion of the program, most individuals can expect to return to their occupation, sport, or leisure activities at a high level. However, results can vary based upon your individual rate of recovery, seriousness of injury, physician limitations, and personal commitment.
